Saint Julien is often the overall winner when we look back at our notes on the value and class across the appellation, and Branaire is right up there. François-Xavier Moreteau told us that the blend of 60:30 Cab to Merlot with 10% Cab Franc seems to be optimum across these vineyards, and we agree. His wine has lovely aromas, a hint of oak under blackcurrant, then blueberry and cinnamon on the palate.
